There are many works of art from the Renaissance period here, all of which are unique and one of a kind in nature. The fact that Uffizi is one of the oldest art museums in the western world is also incredibly impressive, too.
2 – Ponte Vecchio
Ponte Vecchio is one of the most iconic bridges in the world, so if you’re exploring Florence, you might want to check it out. This is one of the only remaining bridges in the area with houses and shops on it, mainly because the Vasari Corridor was built on top of them.
This was a secret passageway connecting Palazzo Vecchio to Pitti Palace. It was built in 1565 for Duke Cosimo I de’ Medici by Vasari, hence why it’s called Vasari Corridor. There’s so much to love about this ancient bridge – and you’re sure to want to buy a souvenir before you head back home.
3 – Piazzale Michelangelo
One of the most famous squares in all of Florence, Piazzale Michelangelo should surely be on your list of places to visit. The panoramic view from the observation point is just incredible, but there’s also plenty to see and do while walking around the area, too. Be sure to walk through the streets of San Niccolò neighbourhood; you won’t be left disappointed!
